Martyn Senior Vice President, Chief Business Resources Officer, Sutton Alliance   Robert Martyn is Senior Vice President, Chief Business Resources Officer of Sutton Alliance, LLC and its member companies. In this position, he provides extensive client development, marketing activities and support, forges strategic alliances with various clients and service providers, manages national clients and our national vendor networks to maximize best service practices. Mr. Martyn is also our company Risk Manager, handling the company wide risk management needs, overseeing all company corporate casualty insurance programs and oversees title and other related claim matters. Mr. Martyn is also the primary liaison with our local and national title insurance underwriters, as well as the state and national industry trade groups that Sutton Alliance is active in supporting. Mr. Martyn has been integral in the establishment and ongoing management of the company’s branch operations in New York, New Jersey and Florida. Mr. Martyn also oversees the company’s licensing activities, compliance and underwriting authorities. Mr. Martyn is also Director of Marketing of Kopel & Spinner, LLP. Kopel & Spinner is a full service law practice, owned by the principals of Sutton Alliance and is active in the practice of real property matters in various states, including, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Tennessee and others. Kopel & Spinner also handles title insurance related claims matters for various real estate related parties. Mr. Martyn is active with the operations of Olympic Title Insurance Company, an Ohio domiciled title insurance company, that is partially owned, managed and operated by one of the Member companies of Sutton Alliance. Mr. Martyn oversees all state and federal regulatory filings, including the financial operations and reporting thereof to the Olympic Title Insurance Company’s Board of Directors and Shareholders. Mr. Martyn has been with our company for 11 years. He came to our company with over two decades of multi-state title insurance agency and title underwriter experience. As Director of Business Development for Stewart Title Insurance Company in New York City, he managed their state and national agency development from 1990 through 1999. During his tenure there, Stewart Title Insurance Company experienced growth from less 1% of New York market share in 1990 to over 12% market. Mr. Martyn also was involved in many key aspects of Stewart’s operations including: agency contract negotiations, claims management, nationwide agency development, reinsurance cedings and assumptions, developed various joint ventures and title plants, played a critical role in four strategic acquisitions during his tenure and assisted in the multistate filings for admittance in many jurisdictions, such as New York, California, United Kingdom, Canada and others. Earlier in his career, Mr. Martyn was active in the formation and growth of one of Washington DC’s premier title insurance agencies, Homeowner’s Guardian Title & Escrow Company. While at Homeowners Guardian, Mr. Martyn conducted more than 4,000 residential and commercial closings, including pre and post closing activities for investors, lenders, realtors and attorneys from 1976 through 1989. Mr. Martyn was born in Bethesda, Maryland, currently resides in Long Island, New York and is divorced. He attended Elon College, Elon, North Carolina and the University of Maryland, College Park Maryland. His hobbies include scuba diving, underwater photography, golf and travel. << Back to Bios Page
