Counsel, Sutton Alliance   As Counsel to Sutton Alliance, Ellen Petrillo is responsible for clearance of complex title matters and rendering underwriting decisions. Formerly, Ms. Petrillo was with a well-known title and settlement company where she was Counsel specializing in the clearance and underwriting of intricate real estate transactions. She began her legal career as an Associate with a Long Island based real estate law firm, where she gained broad experience in all areas of closings for major financial institutions and sophisticated developers, including representation of buyers and sellers in commercial and residential real estate closings. Ms. Petrillo is a commissioned member of the New York Army National Guard. She began her service as an enlisted member in 2001. In 2005, she was commissioned into the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps of the New York Army National Guard and currently holds an officer rank of First Lieutenant. Ms. Petrillo earned her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Hofstra Law School and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. from St. John’s University (dual major in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a minor in Philosophy of Law).
